Today 3 Newark Castle Archers and their mascot went to Sherwood Archers double clout. It was very very windy and loved changing direction just to make shooting even more difficult. However, came away with 3 medals:
Kyan 1st in under 12
Taylor 1st in under 16
Mandie 3rd in senior ladies and all barebow!

We met some new friends, shot with lots of familiar friendly faces and most of all had a cracking time in beautiful surroundings.

Today we had our chairman’s challenge, in memory of our founder Michael Dutton, with Grantham Archers. We had his lovely wife Annette, his mum Rosemary and his daughter Keeley-Anne present the winners with medals and trophies along with the team trophy, which we won!
Thank you to everyone who came along and help keep Michael’s memory alive.

Thank you to Katy, Zoe, Dan the man and our queen Harper.

A great evening on Newark Radio, with the boys and their mums tonight, talking all things Archery at Newark Castle Archers. We even had a little beaver teddy called Artie getting in on the action from Harperโ€™s (Kyanโ€™s sister), Beaver Group!

19 December 2019

Tonight was our annual Christmas shoot which involves a little Nottingham Forest shoot in memory of our founder, Michael Dutton. He was an avid county supporter and we know he would laugh and cringe at the fact we chose Notts Forest as a fun way to remember him!

Wow what an afternoon Newark Castle Archers had today. We were part of a documentary being filmed in the Castle grounds on Rivers and Newark Castle was a feature as it sits on the River Trent, along with the history of longbows and archery in general. It was very very wet and freezing but my Archers were troopers as always

Another fun and successful shoot at The Foxes Archery clubs 2nd round of their Countesthorpe triple. This time the Worcester round!
Kyan went and run his junior category and it was his first time ever shooting at this 18cm black and white target. Everyone else had a great time and Ed came 3rd in Gents Barebow with a new PB score of 230

3 Newark Castle Archers showing off their medals after competing at the EMAS WA18 today

Robert 2nd Gents Barebow 334 points
Steve 2nd Gents Longbow 313 points
And Marti came an impressive 3rd in ladies recurve with a PB 532 points. The recurve category is the biggest out of all the Archery disciplines and the hardest to win any medal in so to come 3rd is brilliant for Marti and our club! Ian and Robert shot well too ๐Ÿ™‚
